Beautiful ivory wedding dress originally designed by Catriona Dowse from Bridal Rogue Gallery in the Kiera style. The dress is satin with a lace overlay. It has cute straps which form into a v-shape at the back. Down the back of the dress are pearl buttons and a stunning lace train which can be pinned up for dancing (and still looks good since the fabric flows nicely and isn’t stiff). The front is classic and elegant with an empire waist, the dress is column in shape with a slight flair from the hips down. There are padded cups sewn into the dress.
The dress is a size 8. I am 5’3” and wore 2 inch heels. My measurements were: chest 88 cm/35 inch, waist 67 cm/26 inch and hips 97 cm/38 inch.
The dress has been professional dry-cleaned, is in great condition and cost £2600 new, although I bought it from the lady who had it made. There are tiny straps on the inside to attached it to a bra for modesty. It has a tiny rip in the train that has been sewn up expertly. There are still tiny marks on the inside lining (from confetti!) but you can’t see it from the outside.
I fell in love with this dress, it is beautiful and extremely comfortable. When I was dress shopping so many dresses felt restrictive and stiff, I felt I would never be able to be myself all evening. When I put this one on it was stunning and felt like a second skin. This dress is so comfortable and allows you to look amazing not only standing, but sitting and dancing too!
This dress is so lovely, it would be a shame for it to sit unused in my cupboard, it deserves to be worn and fallen in love with again.
